Moving up the leg

I took WendyKnits Sunrise sock 1 to knit night yesterday and was able to finish the heel turn, flap and about an inch of leg. I normally make seven inch cuffs but think the recipient of these would prefer five inch. This means that I should be done with sock 1 tomorrow and possibly cast on sock 2.

I’ll probably swatch for Derbyshire Tunic sometime in the next few days. I’m using Rowan Felted Tweed DK and will definitely wash the swatch and check gauge before casting on. The fabric from this yarn is very different after washing so I want to be sure that the fabric is what I want after washing.

I’ve been giving some thought to Christmas knitting the last few days but am not so sure that it’s not just an excuse to buy new yarn. So far I’ve convinced myself that I have yarns in stash that can be used for gifts.

Till next time, no frogs, no tinks, just knits.
