Destination Afterthought Heel Socks, Days 2 and 3

I’ve finished the leg and foot of sock 1 and picked up the heel stitches. I’m right on schedule and plan to finish these socks by Wednesday. I don’t have any Christmas events this week so that should allow me plenty of knitting time.

I’m not sure how I feel about this technique. I worked the cuff then used waste yarn to knit the heel stitches then knitted the waste yarn with working yarn and started the foot.  In this picture you can see the white waste yarn that marks the placement of the heel.

Also I wove ends and blocked four children’s sweaters today. I also assembled shoulder seams and started the collar on Tristan’s Whitfield Shorty. I’ll finish the collar and pocket Sunday and finish assembly later in the week. I’ll also sew buttons on all four sweaters later in the week. Even though they’re not really part of the stash-busting quest, I’ll post pictures.

Till next time, no frogs, no tinks, just knits.
