Sundays are gift knitting time at my house. Sometimes I knit birthday gifts, sometimes I knit Christmas gifts, and sometimes I knit baby gifts. I’ve made several baby gifts lately. Baby surprise jackets are my favorite baby gift. They’re easy to make even though some assembly is required. The ones shown here were made for the twin grandchildren of a friend. The yarn is Plymouth Jeannee.
A prissy little girl sweater is the Whirligig shrug from Interweave Weekend. Yarn is Sandnes Garn Alpakka. This one was also made for friend’s granddaughter. This is the back of the shrug.
A free download is Boheme which is a cute vest in baby and toddler sizes. Yarn is Dream in Color Classy in Spring Tickle. This one would have been nicer if I’d knitted a garter ridge band down the front. I don’t like the “rolling.” This is also for a friend’s granddaughter.
I started another one last Sunday. It is also in Sandnes Garn Alpakka. The pattern is from knitty. The name is Helena. It is a prissy little sweater dress. I gave some thought to making Elizabeth Zimmerman’s February Sweater from The Knitting Almanac. But I could visualize Helena in this yarn.
Also on the needles–Noro socks, prayer throw, Lilac leaf shawl, study hall mitts (hibernating and about to enter official UFO status), charity hats
On the loom–using second heddle and 20 ends per inch, a dish towel in 5/2 perle cotton and on the inkle a free draft from Schacht that went with Jane Patrick video
On the wheel–Cocoa the corriedale.
